Conservation

Conservation

For more than 15 years, I’ve supported conservation through fundraising events, environmental clean-ups and advocacy, using storytelling to help raise awareness and inspire positive change.

In 2016, I was nominated for a Queensland Premier’s Sustainability Award for my short film In the Bin, which highlighted the impact of litter on local communities and the environment. Supported by organisations including; the RSPCA, SES, Tangaroa Blue and the Boomerang Alliance, the film was distributed to schools across Australia and used as an educational resource.

My specialist technical skills allow me to capture conservation stories that can be challenging to access. I’m a Technical Scuba Diver with 11 years’ experience filming in 6K on RED cinema cameras, producing footage for the film industry. I’m also a CASA-accredited drone operator, authorised to operate, supervise and fly drones for commercial purposes.

Combined with my experience in wildlife and the natural environment, these capabilities allow me to capture rare, remote and challenging conservation stories  from underwater ecosystems to aerial perspectives and wildlife in its natural environment.

I’m deeply passionate about conservation and am personally involved in wildlife rescue and koala care on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

I also understand that conservation storytelling comes with a responsibility. Through relevant training and experience, I take an ethical, considered and professional approach to wildlife and conservation content, ensuring stories are captured respectfully and in accordance with appropriate codes of conduct and professional standards.
